Pizza Nell is opening soon in Midtown Toronto, and we’re looking for a Front Counter Host to join our founding team.

The Front Counter Host is the face of Pizza Nell.

You’ll be the person welcoming guests, taking orders, keeping service moving smoothly and making sure every customer receives the same warm, attentive experience — whether they’re grabbing one slice, stopping in after school or picking up dinner for the family.

At Pizza Nell, customer service is not an afterthought. We want people to remember both the pizza and how they were treated.

• Welcome every guest warmly and professionally
• Take orders accurately and operate the POS
• Handle payments and package food and drinks
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen during service
• Keep the front counter, customer area and service stations clean, organized and stocked throughout the day
• Restock beverages, napkins, packaging and other front-of-house supplies
• Maintain a clean and presentable customer-facing area at all times
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Help keep service moving efficiently during busy periods
• Notice what needs attention and take care of it without waiting to be asked
• Help create the friendly, positive neighbourhood atmosphere Pizza Nell is built around

• Minimum 1 year of customer-facing experience required
• Restaurant, café, hospitality or high-volume retail experience strongly preferred
• Naturally warm, welcoming and comfortable interacting with all types of people
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Organized, focused and able to stay composed during busy periods
• Clean, tidy and attentive to the appearance of the space
• Comfortable handling multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
• Able to work independently while supporting a small team
• Takes pride in delivering consistently excellent service
• Weekend availability preferred

We are looking for someone who understands that great hospitality is not just being friendly when things are quiet.

It means maintaining the same standard when there is a lineup, when the restaurant is busy and when several things need attention at once.

$20/hour

Full-time is preferred, although strong part-time candidates with suitable availability will also be considered.

Pizza Nell does not use a tip prompt on our POS. Customers who wish to tip may use our optional tip jar.

Pizza Nell is a new neighbourhood pizza stand opening at 521 Mount Pleasant Road in Midtown Toronto.
